About Cadmore Media
Cadmore Media makes publishing scholarly video easy. Our integrated streaming media technology offers societies and associations new ways to use their multimedia assets to generate revenue, engage membership, and expand reach.
We specialize in conveying large amounts of specialized content in multiple ways to scholarly audiences. Our video-centric platform and workflows empower you to take control of your multimedia content, apply publishing standards and apparatus, and disseminate it via the channels of your choice. Cadmore video solutions combine cutting-edge technology with customized service to deliver an end-to-end solution: from product development, workflow design, content management, product launch, and ongoing support and improvements.
Many video projects fall into one of three distinct categories: education, research, and events; but others integrate modules from each category to create a unique resource. Part of our role is to help you develop your organization’s video strategy, and we work with teams throughout your organization, including publishing, education, and meetings. We have found that once one team launches a video product, others get excited about video, too, and we can integrate new projects easily into the existing platform.
Who We Are
Cadmore Media was founded in 2018 scholarly and video publishing veterans who saw a need to make video publishing an accessible proposition for a wide range of academic and professional use cases. Essentially, we want to transform the creation and dissemination of video and audio content in the scholarly world through expert technology, robust partnerships, and best-in-class service. To do this, we hire great people, build client-driven products, and facilitate industry-wide innovation.
We were awarded the Digital Science Catalyst Grant in 2018 and the NFAIS Digital Startup Challenge in 2019. In 2020 we grew from 3 employees to 10 and released our virtual event platform.
What We Do
Cadmore professionalizes and streamlines the treatment of media assets in scholarly communication by combining streaming media technology and expertise with proven publishing workflows and applying them to your video and audio assets. Our digital asset management system allows you to enrich each piece of content with extensive metadata, persistent IDs, full-text search, subject tagging, and segmentation. Our integrated streaming media platform combines the latest streaming technology with metadata models, workflows, and content partners specifically designed and selected for publishing organizations, enabling them to disseminate content that is fully discoverable, navigable, accessible and integrated with all other research and professional outputs. Your video content will “play well” with your other content, whether produced by your publications, meetings, or professional education teams.
And remember, your content is always yours. We do not aggregate, transfer copyright, or otherwise infringe on how you distribute your products. We support all business models and each piece of content can be structured to allow for various levels of access (open, partially open, paywalled, etc.).
Depending on the type of project, the integrations and technology used will vary, but many projects will use most, if not, all of the modules below:
- Hosting and streaming
- Media library
- Transcription and translation
- Access and authentication
- Digital asset management
- Technical support
- Event management
- Site architecture
- Product management
- Business case development
- Video strategy
