Societies and E-Learning: Lessons from Experience (Fireside Chat)
15th August 2023
11:00am – 12:30pm EDT (Eastern US)
4:00pm – 5:30pm BST (UK)
In our August fireside chat, we bring together three people who have extensive experience with creating and supporting e-learning products and platforms for societies. Come and join us as we talk about what we wished we had known as we embarked on this journey, what we learned, and what advice we would share with others starting down this road. One of our contributors is on the precipice of launching their new product; another has overseen both the launch of an e-learning program from scratch and now works with a more mature established one, and we are lucky to be joined by a vendor who has seen MANY societies grapple with the challenges raised by this endeavour.
As usual, this will be an interactive session, and immediately after the fireside chat there will be a live Q&A with the speakers which should be a lively affair.
We’ll talk for just short of an hour, and then open up a round table discussion for you to bring your thoughts, ideas, questions and challenges to our friendly Society Street discussion. Come and join us (and find out more on our Events page).
We’ll be talking on the 15th August 2023.
Thanks to the continued support of our sponsors, all Society Street events are free to attend.

About Society Street
Society Street brings together leaders and future leaders of learned societies and associations to provide a forum to explore the challenges facing these organizations.
Originally conceived as a conference, Society Street’s mission is to provide a venue for discussion, debate, networking, and information exchange, uniquely focussed on the whole organization. We aim to address together the strategic questions facing societies around publishing, conferences, membership, outreach and governance – and look at them as part of a joined-up whole.
Our goal is to ultimately provide support to strengthen society leadership, and in turn, strengthen learned societies. We firmly believe that societies are an important part of the research ecosystem, and provide support and advocacy for research, researchers and practitioners in the important work they do in – ultimately – making the world a better place.
We continue to stay true to our mission and provide a venue for interesting – and topical – conversations, whether through our fireside chat webinars, or through in-person events.
Follow us on LinkedIn, and sign up for alerts for new content – you will be the first to hear about our next in person event, and we will let you know about upcoming conversations for you to listen to throughout the year.
Thanks to the continued support of our sponsors, all Society Street online events are free. All online sessions are recorded and can be viewed on demand.
